Many people consider Tongson Beach to be one of the most beautiful in Koh Samui and for years it was a well kept secret among the local expats. It is located in Plai Laem, a peninsula on the Northeast Coast near Choengmon.  Tongson Bay is close to the airport and popular tourist beaches like Chaweng and Choengmon but the serene beauty makes you feel as if you are on a remote tropical island.  
   Koh Samui has developed quickly in the last few years and Tongson Bay has now been discovered.  Several high end villas are now perched on the hill overlooking the bay and an Asian style five star bungalow resort has just been completed on the beach.  But the area is still quiet and beautiful and there are usually only a few if any people on the white sand beach. 
   
The few plots of land for sale here are some of the most expensive on the island. This has kept development to a minimum. No clubs or karoake bars and very few cars or motorcycles can be seen or heard throughout the day.  The sea is still crystal clear and the views are still breathtaking.  Along with the small local restaraunts, the residents can now choose to dine in one of the five star restaraunts or enjoy the spa services in the resort below.  Development is not all bad!
